An early work by a great composer takes on a different meaning when one knows their later greater works. One can hear the embryonic beginnings of their style.
A 75-minute work for chorus and orchestra that Sibelius never wanted to be performed again. There is some great stuff here and some ramblings.
It has a story based on some Finnish epic saga.
