Default Being a bit anthro-autistic do you think my eyes are pure dark brown?

I know some made up "gray-brown" or "blue-brown" for their studies, and such other categories, i dont know what that should mean though.

Do you think my eyes are "pure dark brown" do you see a gray overlay? What if they get "lighter" in sun or direct lightning? Does that count?

They are brown or dark brown imo. But there are irises that have even higher amounts of melanin than yours. At least it is possible to distinguish your pupils from the irises through the incidence of light.

Real dark brown eyes look like this, but I would say they are black.

With direct light shining on half of your face one of your eyes is medium brown. We shouldn't judge the color of the one in shadow.

If you did a close up of one eye it would be easier so see the color(s).

My Mom has dark brown eyes with a blue star design around the pupils.

Medium brown so standard brown eyes. Not really dark brown-black.

Martin #1 is definitely the rarest normal eye color in a European context. Effectively pure brown eyes meant Martin #2-6. Outside of West Eurasian populations it is much more common, but even then dark to medium brown Martin #2-3 predominates. As an example an observation of 115 Ifugao subjects from the Philippines found 4.2% #1 against 89.6% #2-3. In addition 6.2% had fairly light brown (but not honey-colored or amber) #4 and 2.6% were dark mixed #5-6 similar to amber or honey-colored

Your eyes are Martin #2-3. The strong majority for populations without significant West Eurasian admixture.

I've seen your eyes a lot over the years Mort, and in all sorts of lighting. Final verdict: Dark Brown.

Why are you so obsessed with your eye colour?
