The first house my parents had was big. Until I was 4 my grandmother, grandfather, aunt, and obviously parents lived in that house. My grandmother watched me while everyone was at work until I was 3. I went to pre-school a year earlier so I could learn English.
I think it's pretty cool and beneficial to have so much family living under the same roof as long as the family dynamics aren't toxic. I remember being happy.
I would say it's difficult but in some areas, it's more difficult than others. In the case of my uncle and aunt, they moved to be near my cousin and her family.

There is something rather dissonant about a society that, on the one hand, is always encouraging people to "feel their pain" and "open up", no matter how dubious, and on the other hand which worships gun ownership and regards healthcare free at the point of usage to be an affront to freedom...
