But the point is that some Syrians (not most) can resemble the darker 20% or so of Mediterranean Europeans, leaving aside the comparatively rare Syrians who look more 'typically' European. At the end of the day, Europeans and Middle Easterners are both Caucasoids, whereas Amerindians and SSAs (and even the Mestizos and Triracials who may have significant European admixture) are not.

10-20% of Venezuelans are european and 2x more castizo/harnizo, so we would have 30% that can more or less pass as Europeans. Syrians don't look European at all...

A small portion of Syrians do look European though, whether looking like darker southern euros or not, fact is that Syrian sits between Anatolia, the Eastern shores of the Mediterranean, Mesopatamia and The Arabian peninsula. Not to mention there are Syrian families especially within the cities with Caucasus, Ottoman or even Balkan roots.
