No that different than Marabous pretending to kickstart moped and bring back the loved one. They just didn't have the turnkey god available so they had to believe in the higher power of themselves. My conclusion are religions were appealing as a form of lazy delegation, as well as avoiding the embarassement in case that didn't go as planned ("God must have a destiny for me i can't understand yet, or he is just too busy up there")

Christianity is not a religion, and in fact being a Christian is more a burden because you are expected to abide by God's laws and try to abide by them . Non believers are lazy because they don't even seek the spiritual or they just reject it because they can't understand anything but the physical realm.
