Very interesting group photo, demonstrating that the ancestry of Slovaks is predominantly pre-Slavic. They look like the Croats, with a higher Slavic and Germanic components. There is significant overlap with Hungarians, even Romanians to a certain degree (70% pass here)

It looks quite different than their soccer team, could it be due to bad lighting or the fact that most of them are older people, I don't know, better upload photos of politicians or soccer players that are in fashion now, that way it would be easier to rate

Yes Slovaks can be surprising if you have certain expectations. There was a notable migration of Romanian Vlachs up to there and Czech Moravia in the late Middle Ages to 18th century and they eventually became assimilated into the local Slavic cultures... but they made some lasting cultural impact, like bryndza cheese.
This group in particular in the pictures isn't really lighter, especially compared to Transylvania and the north, but I have been to Bratislava on vacation and I should say my impression was that the average Slovak was still somewhat lighter and more Central-East Euro than the average Romanian. Not as big of a gap as you might think though. They would fit best in Hungary imo however, and north Balkans
