If I remember correctly i saw somewhere that you are Hungarian...
So I think that's very good. I would say that Hungarians are one of the most heterogeneous groups in Europe. I was there a lot in the 90s-00s. There are really all phenotypes, even within families. From Scandinavian, to German, to Slavic to Asian-Turkic types. I saw people that could easiely be Belgium or Italian too. I guess you are aware of that and you partly agree. That is just one impressions and there is many much to say...big topic!
(Of course i know a little bit of European + Hungarian history and the reasons for that)
But i highly suggest that the DNA breakdown of that different looking individuals is nearly as much heterogeneous as their phenotypes.
(I've been to Lake Balaton several times + to the northwest and Budapest)
Btw...this is what i was talking about:
I played around with many samples. + i regrouped em from NW to SE. Here i did the calculation with my "paper trail" Ancestors. Everything pretty much ok. But ~83 of my 127 distance points is due to that issue. So about 65%. It is by far the biggest deviation absolute and relative. Secondary Armenian-North Caucasus. But i think what Russki mentioned should be the reasons.

Do you have some Ungarndeutsche / Donauschwabe ancestry?
I am from Hungary. I am half Hungarian half Slovak actually, I am proud of my Slovak ancestry but most of the time I just say I am Hungarian for practical purposes. My Slovak ancestry is from Hungary, not from Slovakia so my case is special.
I think some people exaggerate the diversity of Hungarians, yes you can find various looks amoung us, but I'd say 80-90% of Hungarians have a Hungarian look, the rest may deviate in one direction or another. I'd describe Hungarians as "central-slavic" ethnicity that is racially in between Slovaks/Czechs and Croats/Bosniaks/Serbs + some Romanian/Bulgarian influence is there too.
