Hair colour isn’t the only criteria for populations to resemble one another. You have facial features, body build and so on. North - West Russians could be very blond-haired, but look nothing like Norwegians. There are plenty of Finnic people in Russia that are about as fair as Scandinavians but look nothing like them. I’d say the British Islanders in looks are far closer to the Norwegians and Icelanders as well. In fact genetically the Scottish are closer to the Norwegians than blond-haired Northern Russians, Estonians, Latvians, etc…Yes, indeed the Scottish people due to their Keltic ancestry retain darker hair on average than the Norwegians and the other Scandinavians. At the same time, they are much more ginger-haired, paler in complexion often more freckled. In fact, Norwegians as a whole have a higher tendency to tan than both the Swedes and Finnish. Thus Oliver109 was right, when he said that the Scottish were paler. The Scottish people frequency of blue eyes is higher than the overall for Great Britain ( English and Welsh people are less blue-eyed on average). Approximately 86% is blue or green - eyed. This is higher at least than in Denmark and Latvia.

Why would you post group photos of Scottish students who are close enough to distinguish facial features with a photo of northern English of mixed ages (people get darker as they age) who are distant from the camera? There aren't any students in northern England to compare?
Why is it everything you do is stupid? Even your attempts at comparing populations is ridiculously stupid (as shown above).

They are perfectly good pictures and i don't know where you get the idea that people get darker as they age, if anything older people actually show the mean pigmentation of populations better than younger people, many older people are very pale, almost snow white.
