Very bizarre you’re only getting <1% but I’m getting ~5% for red hair. Guess you better go dye it xd No but I do suspect some things are over/underemphasized with this methodology

His score for hair color is very bizzare and wrong. Mine seems ok, maybe im rather black haired then dark brown haired though? But nearly hundred percent for dark brown/black hair combined? Sometimes its hard to tell truly black hair from dark brown hair apart?

I think it is getting better and better i cant imagine such things in 2010 for example, and i guess you get better results if you have whole genome tested, not only certain SNPs like with 23andme or ancestry.dna

Both eye and hair predictions aren't accurate imo.
I had light brown hair as a kid and dark brown hair now, which doesn't fit my results. Same thing for eye color.

Beowulf was not genotyped for the very important pigmentation SNP rs16891982. With that set to the standard European genotype G;G, these are his results for the earlier v12 predictor I had downloaded:



With the wild type C;C genotype at rs16891982 the chances of black hair are as much as 7x higher and predisposition to lighter hair pigmentation significantly increases likelihood of red hair with this predictor. That is why is initial prediction before the genotype was filled in was so low.

The other relevant SNPs he was not genotyped for have significantly more variation in Europe, so I could only speculate.

Yeah, the quality of the Raw data is also very important!
