It can be a bias due to the sport : maybe footballers come from the lower-class, then the upper-class phenotypes could be underrepresented. In France, football is almost only practiced among the lower-class. Just a theory though, I don't know the sociology of football in Spain.

I only see here that there are 5 with the first surname Catalan, the second surname does not appear, at least in this link.
Currently, in a large city like Sabadell or others in the province of Barcelona, including the city of Barcelona, it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to form a team with a majority of Catalan players.
