Btw I tend to think so now, considering how different White Brazilians look from White Mexicans - even when they are fully or predominantly of Iberian descent.

(Someone like Thiago Lacerda wouldn't be too common among White Mexicans of Spanish descent, I guess).

Joăo Félix looks like Portuguese that is very unspanish in vibe. And not because he is "dark", but because of his gracile Med features. I noticed Portuguese have smaller noses and softer facial features than Spaniards in general, because Baskid/Dinaric influences are stronger in Spain.

Sergio Ramos would IMO be example of Spaniards that I would not guess as common Portuguese type. I don't associate such "horsey" type with pronounced chin/ large teeth with Portugal.

I also think that Spaniards (especially those in the North) tend to be slightly lighter-skinned.
The Portuguese are more olive-skinned / brunet-white and are more on par with Southern Italians and Greeks in this regard.

The difference is not big however.

Spaniards have a more greyish white tone like Turks while Portuguese tend to have more of a cork wood like skintone.

Ah yes, this is a recurring topic among spics and sudacas, which they use to say portuguese are darker.

Another one has bumped this topic again and is claiming that portuguese are "darker skined".

Don't know if there is some sort of rivalry between hispanic americans and brazilians or if it's a form of OWD, boosting up their spanish ancestry. But i0ve seen it too many times to be a coincidence.

You're right in saying that Sergio Ramos would look uncommon here, i can't find his look to be familiar and i can't find a look alike for him:

A "horsey" type portuguese footballer i can think of is Vitor Gomes but he looks nothing like Sergio Ramos:

In fact maybe Sergio Ramos looks more like Joao Felix's brother (also a footballer) than like Vitor Gomes:

I would say that Portuguese have more influence from Southmed, the Spanish on the contrary have more influence from Baskid/Litorid, I think that is the only noticeable difference, but I doubt that there is more than 5% percent of Portuguese who do not pass in Spain and on the contrary, or maybe not even that

    Default .

Sergio Ramos is not an example of an ethnic Spaniard, because he is half gypsy. And yes, from my personal experience ethnic Portuguese are darker than ethnic Spaniards.

Where is the link claiming that Ramos is half gypsy? I've been on this forum for years and no spanish user or others have ever provided a link proving that. Not even pro gypsy websites claim that, tgey just point that Ramos grew up in Canas and had many gitano neighbours and friends and has a passion for the gitano flamenco culture, not that he is of gitano or partly gitano origins:
