True. Romanians are most like Tuscans in behavior.

Are you guys sure ? I just looked on google i found this https://www.reddit.com/r/23andme/com...ly_related_to/ Saying romanians are genetically closer north east italians... Also once i made an westeurope test for people from east europe saying i was closer to north italy... So i wonder what are your sources ? Of course genetical closeness is probably not that big to infer behavior, it is all i found nevertheless

Romanians aren't similar to Italians at all. Even though both people are predominantly brunet, their facial features are clearly different. Italians are most similar to:
    - Iberians
    - Greeks
with certain overlap with Albanians and even less with SW Slavs. Any other ethnic group isn't similar at all

Firstly the question is about cultural and behavioral factors... it's hard to say since there are significant differences but probably central if you had to pick. It's hard to make sweeping generalizations about entire countries since regions and even families and individuals are different in their behavior, some more loud, emotional and outgoing, others colder and more reserved. There's also differences in cuisine and how religion and history influences mentality. While family and tradition is important in Romania, there isn't as much of a clannish nature, for example.

Even physically, while of course they're distinct, I wouldn't say there's zero overlap, I feel like that's an exaggeration. At least 15% or so. I've spent a decent amount of time in both countries. Dinarid, Alpine, and Med variants are shared to some extent, of course with differences in the details. But I think people who say there's no similarity whatsoever often have some agenda or something, having bad experiences or just not exposure to the right people. It honestly depends on the region of Romania as there is lots of diversity, in the south and west areas you can see people who would vaguely pass yeah. Some even in France. There's not much overlap with Iberia from Ro. though, I will say.

If there is occasional overlap with Albania and northern Greece and Central Europe why wouldn't there also be with Italy in a few places? I think in different ways both northeastern areas like FVG and maybe some of the SE like Puglia or Molise. I remember like twenty years ago, some older lady on the street in Bologna came up to a friend of mine from Romania and casually asked him something in Italian, with a slightly surprised look that he couldn't respond, so he didn't stick out that much apparently. And my cousin's been mistaken at times too.

Genetically there's not a gigantic gap between some of the samples either from what I've seen, although of course there's more similarity to neighbors, as expected, and some are quite far. It's not about the language root though imo... that's just a superficial aspect that is coincidentally shared.
