I ran some Assyrian samples and about half passed, some that did not were very close to. It was surprising. I would like to hear more about you region or if it's an isolated community if you want in pm. Very interesting that you got so high distances, in particular to East Asian and Amerindian!

My family originated from the Hakkari region of Eastern Turkey.

It's possible if you guys managed to remain that isolated for thousands of years. After seeing yours and some of the people's results, if i was a geneticist, i would pack my bags right now and try to uncover ancients DNA in your region! I would look around eastern Anatolia for sure to see what else can be found in this location, that looks breathtaking by the way.

There was likely an eastern flavor of it, possibly you dodged most of what came later in what is now Turkey. So very fascinating.

I think my slight bump in distances actually comes from a tiny increase in ancestry from these particular Bichon HG. I noticed this pattern in my samples for some individuals in the area.




But it begs the question, who brought us all down if both the mesolithic and the neolithic descendants of Pinarbasi were that distant... There are several reasons, the main one, people are not ready to know the answer.

Main reason some Iberians will be borderline is Taforalt, as it had signficant SSA and that translates very clearly in distance, even with just a tiny bit of it, this bring down distance quickly. Of course harboring SSA increases the other distances, it's a communicating vessel, that's why you have to clear all 4.

Some Russians and Finns fail at the Amerindian and East Asian, so it's debatable if the threshold is too high on that but i would say below 60 East Asian you have to have really substantial Siberian or else, because it shouldn't be that related to Koreans and Japaneses but obviously still is to some extent.
