What is your result for comparison? As seen in the thread it's common to get in the 74 for Iberians if they are a little bit more NA/SSA than average (the average passes).

But if we put this in base 100 so it can be converted into a percentage, a 0 (yourself) to 100 distance (that would be ancient Bichon), then this is like getting 74.6%, a mere 0.4% short of passing on one component.

Furthermore i should also reiterate, the 4 distances are connected. For the same distance of African, it's easier to clear it if you have a lower distance to East Asian, Amerindian or even Papuan since they are all the most distinct on earth. For example someone who would be 1/4 black would have a lower distance to African quite naturally, but would get a higher distance to African if he was ALSO 1/4 Chinese than being none of these. For the same distance to African you can be more "African like" if your score lower on the other 3. This is why failing at 1 isn't the same as failing at 2, 3 or 4.


Admixture runs have a defined threshold, that isn't defined by the user but arbitrarly by the samples, the intent of the calculator etc... If that threshold happens to be high, you might not see what is your real inclination. This is typically what we see in many calculators assessing "Caucasian or West Eurasian", there are probably a dozen already on the forum, where everybody scores 100% (or close) because the threshold is low.

This is way more accurate, as again yourself is the 0 and everything else is 0 to 100 with no accuracy of fit or distance. There is no threshold but the one you may decide to set, just values but it's the same principle than other calculators, if only ran in reverse to get the pure raw values.

I noticed as well the order gets swapped at some point, East Asian gets ahead of Amerindian, and Papuan before African. There is certainly a line somewhere in the middle of Eurasia where that happens. Although you are still a tad closer to Africans than the closest Euros, which i always find surprising but this is probably due to Basal East Eurasian.
