Watched the next episode on BBC Wales. The Act of Union between Wales and England.
From what I've gathered. The Gentry benfited most from act of Union. Upper class benefited, working class suffered moreso. Like the Act of Union 1707.
1536 document, act of parliament between England and Wales passage:
Nine out of 10 in Wales spoke Welsh only and struggled during this time. Henry VIII attacked a good deal of Welsh culture during this time.'Henceforth no person or persons that use the welsh speach or language,
shall have or enjoy any manor office or fees within this realm,
unless he or they exerice English speech or language'
17th century snorefest, Puritan's zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Some nice scenes of castles and hills wake me up. Then Wales flourishes.
