Yes, north Caucasians are more mixed, they have much more steppe (west Georgians don't have any), lower native Caucasus component and also higher Iran and mongoloid like stuff (west Georgians are basically zero mongoloid).
It seems ancestors of north Caucasians mixed with Scythians and Turkic nomads, which makes sense as north Caucasus opens to eurasian steppe.

Western Georgia is essentially the most isolated place in the Caucasus.
To the north - the Greater Caucasus Range
To the south - the Lesser Caucasus Mountains
To the west - the sea
To the east - the Liakhvi Range, which divides Georgia into west and east.
And inside are the densest forests, the most swampy territory in the Caucasus, frequent fogs and rains. It seems that both ancient authors and medieval European authors, and Russians wrote that the territory itself is very difficult to pass and has a very unpleasant climate.
Plus the population is more chauvinistic than the Georgians from the east. One Russian author described the eastern Georgians as more open and kind, and the western ones as more vengeful, cruel, not accepting strangers. Even today, the West is practically monoethnic.

Interesting. Northeast Caucasians have also Gedrosia admixture which is present in Iran and India, due to J2a haplogroup? They do also have an impressive amount of Northern European component.
Georgians and Northwest Caucasians have some kind similarities with Sardinians, because of Anatolian farmers and Natufians.

Forgotten Indo-European tribes in the Caucasus mountains.
There are constant fights between Ossetians and other Caucasians "who is the most Caucasus people in Caucasus", Ossetians call their eastern neighbors the least Caucasus people in Caucasus while Ossetians are only linguistically Indo-European people, but genetically are true Caucasus folk. Funny, but fact.
