I see a lot of people with Latin American ancestry having small amounts of "Jewish DNA" show up in their results. I suspect it has to do with the history of "crypto-jews" or "conversos" in the Iberian Peninsula. Essentially during medieval times, there were intense attempts in Spain to forcibly convert Jewish people to Christianity and to heavily persecute those who tried to hold to their old faith.
As a result, I think a lot of Jewish people genuinely assimilated with the gentile population. Perhaps it was easier for former Jews to obscure their origins by fleeing to the New World? Or maybe modern populations in Iberia have similar admixture, though I've never heard anyone mention that before.
