The thing is that the pre-Slavic Getae-Dacian-Thracian genetic base was really close to Italic.

Aromanians have mixed with the incoming Slavs obviously, but less so than Romanians. They are not that far off from Italians.
The further we go back in time from the year 2000 AD towards 0 AD, the more paleo-Balkan and Italian-like the profile of the average Romanian/Moldovan from that time will be, because the pre-Slavic substrate was Central Italian-like. It will be a similar picture to the one in Croatia and Serbia, where we haves significantly more samples from antiquity, migration period, early medieval and medieval.
