No, the Big Y test is a more comprehensive report. It shows your downstream clades to more recent times. 23&me's assignments are too far back in time. My Y-line is rare/undertested and it goes back to the bronze age. And with more people taking the test, it will update in the future. I took the Big Y to maybe get an idea of where it came from more specifically. Did it come from the Romans(from Italy), Near Eastern auxiliaries, Phoenicians, Greeks etc?
There was one person on another forum that was J2 also discovered through the Big Y test his most recent paternal ancestor came from northern Italy in the late Medieval period. I'm keeping it vague because this came through a private message exchange.

Very interesting. It looks like FTDNA has added some things since I last visited. I'm also a bit of an orphan on Big Y. Are those simulated coordinates?

There's only one other person, who has tested, that has the same haplogroup. Their location is in Saudi Arabia.
I'm guessing that they're using ancient samples to represent the downstream haplogroups on globe trekker. It wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to see how any of these people ended up where they are.
I imagine T-FGC28652, T-BY111898, and T-Y125276 would have travelled that blue band.

I don't think those G25 coordinates I shared are simulated. Some come from the G25 dataset and from https://www.exploreyourdna.com/Samples. Some can be found in Ajeje's list too: https://www.exploreyourdna.com/Tools/Lists

Ahh, I didn't know those resources were out there. Cool.

cannot find your terminal subclade on https://www.yfull.com/
btw where did you take the test and if you can share the cost (you can reply in private). I know it's something you can find with a simple search, but if I do it I'd go with a service already used by someone else who was ok with it.
I'd like to do one as well. I tested with 23andme myself, dad and maternal grandma between 2011 and now, I'd like to have my mom tested next, with 23andme, and then do the big Y
