Default Taking another DNA test from a different company

Do you think it makes sense?

I am gonna do it from 23andMe to learn my mtDNA and traits.

But I already have my results from a different company, and I am hesitant because 23andMe experienced a data leak.

I tested with 23andMe twice, AncestryDNA, MyHeritage, and Family Tree DNA.

You can get your true Full mtDNA from FTDNA (Family Tree DNA). Mine is H1c12. Only 16 people in the world have H1c12 out of those that have tested.

FTDNA mtDNA test is 159 dollars just to learn mtDNA, so I am gonna skip that. I find it expensive. 23andMe is 100 dollars, but it gives you traits, y-dna, mtDNA and automosal DNA results.

But 23andMe experienced a data leak in the past. Has their current owner done something about it like tightening their data security? The company went bankrupt and I know nothing about their current owner.

You could test your Mtdna through this page https://dna.jameslick.com/mthap/ all you need to do is upload your data file. Though it depends on which test if you're gonna get any result or not, IIRC doesn't work for myHeritage but 23andme and Ancestry DNA are good to go.

23andMe is a good choice. That data leak was nothing dangerous anyway (I think only haplogroups data was leaked).
My DNA Origin analysis for 16 EUR (you get 2 reports examining ancestry from 3012 regions, 226 countries): https://www.exploreyourdna.com/DNAOrigin.aspx

This analysis is not based on G25 but on ADMIXTURE. And it has more regions than any other DNA test!

I don't really understand that point of testing with so many different companies. I mean, you basically get the same results over and over again.

It does not give anything accurate. It gives H2a to everyone.

I wish AncestryDNA gave haplogroup results as well. They are the best company in terms of SNP coverage afaik.

They were until recently. But I think they now reduced the number of SNPs they test to 400K.

So, which one is the best now?
