It would be great if everyone posted their admixtures from the K12 test and the K12b_new test on the Eurogenes blog. There are links there in his latest post to post your results so he can know what admixture components peak in different ethnic groups.

The K9 thru K12 and K12b and K12b-New and Hunter Gatherer were updated, some twice (three versions), and there are also options of 1E-2 thru 1E-7 for each of them.

Graham, do you think the North Sea component is a Nordic/Germanic one or a Celtic one much like Western European? Since you are from Scotland you seem to have more of the North Sea component than the Western European one.

Think you would need to compare West/East Britain and West/East Norway to find that out.

Going by other tests of Polako's, swayed towards Nordic influence.

Please fill in your ancestry info at Gedmatch

As most of you know, there are now seven Eurogenes ancestry tests available at Gedmatch (see here). I was planning to provide a detailed guide to each test, with information about the distribution of all the clusters in a variety of ethnic groups. However, the problem is that I can't quite reproduce the results from Gedmatch with the software on my laptop.

Sometimes the scores differ by as much as 10%. This isn't an issue for those of you taking the tests, because it's the relative results that matter, and these will always be correct as long as everyone uses the same algorithm at Gedmatch. Nevertheless, it means that I can't say with certainly where the clusters peak, and what their average scores are in different ethnic groups.

So, the only way around this problem is to ask everyone what they're getting. To that effect, the Eurogenes Gedmatch tests now come with an option to provide your ancestry as you take the tests. The ancestry info and the results go straight to me, without any raw data being revealed. When enough people from relevant ethnic groups provide me with data, you'll see some really cool stuff here, like maps and such.
