We had this discussion yesterday in the chatbox, so I thought it is worth a poll and a thread.

Scandinavia (except Finland), Germany, Austria, England and Scotland, Netherlands, dutch speaking part of Belgium. Ireland, Wales, Switzerland and Luxembourg are also partially germanic IMO.
All minus Belgium and France

Germany, Austria, the German-speaking cantons of Switzerland, Flanders, Luxembourg, Netherlands, England, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Iceland.
Scotland has some Germanic influence, either ethnically and culturally, but is predominantely Celtic. The same applies to the rest of the British Isles, to a. Lesser extent.
France, despite some members on fora like these attempting to glue it to the Germanic sphere, is anything but Germanic, except some fringes. In real life the bulk of France is Gallo-Romance, a concoction of Celtic and Latin culture.
Finland has nothing of Germanic.

I think this poll is quite interesting.
As I am a Dutch, I think Netherlands is obviously Germanic country.
And Germany, of couse. And Scandinavian countries.
But Finland, they are actually 'Finns'. But they were Germanized.
Though I can't say they are Germanic people.
Their language is even not Indo European language.
Austria is just like Germany, and I think Switzerland is also to be Germanic country,
but Siwissers are blend of Germans and Italians.
In Luxembourg, there are so many Germans. So I also consider this country to be one of the Germanic countries. United Kingdom, I think this is an obvious Germanic country.
Englishes are representives of United Kingdom, and Englishes are Anglo Saxons, not Celtics like Scottishes and Welshes. And after all Scottishes and Welshes are Germanized. France is so Romanic to be a Germanic country.
But their national name 'France' is come from 'Frank tribe'. Frank was one of the various Germanic countries. And sometimes Czech is considered to be a Germanic country,
But I don't think they are Germans. But Germanized - Slavic people.
And really really some Polishes look like Germans, but only some.
Sometimes Slovenians look like Germans but it is also only 'some'.

I should have written "predominantly Germanic"
There are in many countries other influences as well.
The "Finish question" is very intresting for me. Some claim that they are
very Germanic but only their language is not. But very few votes so far.

Sweden are not germanics.
Goths, who were leading class in Sweden were leading class in Italy and Romania,Serbia,Croatia,Bosnia,Bulgaria.
Visigoths were leading class in Spain.
In Gothica by Jordaness goths kings from that times said they are dacians and that dacians are coming from Scandinavia.
Sure they were not dacians, and dacians did not came from Scandinavia in the recent past (that means 2000-3000 years ago),but goths lived plenty of time with dacians in Romania and were plenty of mutual influences.
Norway got leading class norwegians vikings, which were mostly R1A1 norse so they are not germanics either.
I think Denmark had as leading class goths also.
Goths were people of I1A hg mostly, while germanics from Germany,Austria and so on are people of R1B germanic - R1B-S21(R1B-U106) mostly.
