dromedary camels were only used in large scale with the arab invaders. Before that, Numidian horse and carts were used in the Roman fashion in North Africa

What I think is that the idea of "reconquista" is in fact a modern convention, and also the old idea of "invasion" in 711. They are a lot of nationalist bias in the traditional idea of the reconquista and muslim invasion.

And probably the truth, don´t suit neither Iberian countries, nor muslims. Neither epic conquest for muslims nor heroic"reconquista" for christians.

I agree but saying spain already existed in ancient times is also far-fetched

The idea of unity among Iberians territories under a common entity is quite early, and start in roman times, in my opinion. And in that times was named Hispania. Before roman "invasion" they were tribes that made random alliances among them, possibly some more advanced that we can called as ancient kingdoms , but not a true unity spirit in the whole peninsula.

And of course, the concept of nation-state, is a modern concept who start after the Westphallia peace in 1648, was improved during the Enlightenment and who was massively extended after the fall of Ancien Régime.

That doesn't really make sense because the borders of Hispania changed a lot during Roman times and were not the same as the modern spanish state. Moreover this "state" was only a province controlled by people who were from outside the peninsula ...while logically you can claim a spanish state if it's ruled by locals and do not forget that there was a strong discontinuity since ancient times : Visigoths, suebians, Al andalus, Kingdom of Asturia, kingdom of Navarre and aragon , etc You can say that these people were genetically similar to modern spaniards but you can't say Spain already existed 2000 years ago ...with that logic I can say that guanches were moroccans because they came from what is now known as Morocco and colonized those islands.
