It most definitely wouldn't be an unquestionable fact, but I suppose one could argue that a native person who has lived in their country of origin would be more reliable or trusted upon for that assessment. You definitely wouldn't just trust someone that has been to a certain place once or someone that claims they've been somewhere but haven't. In these instances, they'd either have to prove their knowledge in other ways, rather than just piling random group pics off Google saying how people look of an area, but more trivial things, more societal, cultural specificities they couldn't find online and lie about. But then again, especially on this site, you'll also have the variable of bias... people that are fully native, who may use the argumentation of "I'm a native so ik more than you" but then focus only on certain types of that population that they deem suitable to their standard. By the way, this is no jab at Damiao, he has a great bull-fighting thread, and these are solid representations of Portugal, but still, sometimes certain types of users can come off as biased to me for sure.
