My question is: Who is more European- Northern Euros or Southern Euros? Are Northerners (like Danes, Dutch, Nords) really more European than their Southern counterparts? There were inhabitants in the region called Greece and/or Italy since the early Neanderthal period. There were indigenous populations in these regions during the Paleolithic period and when the Neolithics arrived in Europe from Asia Minor around 7000 BC there was an indigenous population present. The people of the South (like any other Euro region) have varying degrees of IE, EHG, WHG, CHG (just like the Northerners) and the variation is based on population settlements. Indo Europeans were no more Euro than Neolithicc farmers they both arrived from outside of Europe and essentially re-populated. There is no historical/genetic proof that NW Euros are more "European" than their Southern neighbors.
