We respect hard work and despise people that do not work or live off of another person. I very rarely take off of work and also do not like to take long vacations. It is in our blood to work.

Also, when you see your parents getting up every morning and working to take care of their family. It is something that you believe is the right thing to do.

My parents would be embarrassed and ashamed if they ever had to rely off of welfare. Some people are too proud to take from others even in there time of need.

I'd say the US and Brazil are the least anti-Roma countries in the world. In fact, most of the New World is not anti-Roma.

americans are from europe, so why would they not know who the roma, many americans travell at least once in their life europe and have family in europe or roots in europe. i dont buy it, certainly they know who the gypsies are. and there are many roma in the usa.

Most White Americans descend from Europeans which came many generations ago. I doubt they even know what village their ancestors hail from let alone their extended relatives back in those villages. They mostly go from hearsay "my paternal grandfather is Boston Irish" or "my maternal grandmother is New Jersey Italian", nothing much beyond that and lastnames/family names. They probably have to go through library archives to guess.

Why do you imply that roma do not want to work, or that it is part of who they are that they do not work. Roma do work. They always worked. There are many criminals and beggars but also many who work. Even if they are not regulary employed, they still work like cleaning the streets. They are also sellers and traders. In Serbia at least many Roma sell things on markets. Many also run their own business like transportation business, or owning a restaurant etc. I know many.

Recent Balkan immigrants might have antiziganist prejudices, but most Americans don't share these biases, and recent immigrant groups tend not to be that influential in imparting prejudice.
