To me, someone who is predominantly amerindian or even fully amerindian but has light skin, is white the same as an European.
But someone who is 1% black is always brown.

Yeah, I agree. I think there's no place to ''draw the line'' if you include people below 95%+ European as ''real whites''. Someone who is 81% European hardly will look very different from someone who's 86%, for example. And phenotypes are kinda random anyway, I've seen people with 80% European blood looking whiter than 100% Europeans sometimes, so it doesn't matter. In real world you are what you look like, no one cares about these arbitrary standards of whiteness.

Yes, Indians are definitely viewed as white here, which is not surprising considering that many of them have light skin and eyes and also the sucess of Bollywood in the last years.
There was a BR soap opera where the actors playing the hindi were white mostly and nobody questioned It.
It was called "The Clone" ( but in Portuguese), if i remember correctly.
