Oh yes, this will be a fun thread. Rank the regions of your country from the lightest to darkest, natives only. Or Whites in the case of the New World.
The US:
I think grouping the states into 4 different groups is a good start.
First group
Anglo-German with significant Scando.
Few states belong to this group. Midwest, Northwestern USA. They are undoubtedly the lightest in the US.
States: Minnesota, the Dakotas, Idaho, Utah, Montana and Wyoming.
Second Group
Anglo-German with significant Irish and minor French/Scando
This is the group most of the states in the Midwest and Western coast belong to, which makes it the most numerous by far.
States: Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Illnois, Wisconsin, Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington.
Considerable amount of Polish, Italian, Dutch and Scottish people are found usually in some restricted areas/states.
Third Group
Anglo with significant German, Irish and Scot
Southern USA. The difference between group two and three is quite small, but from my own experience I think that the south is slightly darker.
States: Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
People of French ancestry form the largest group in Louisiana, southern Mississippi and certain parts of east Texas.
Fourth Group
Italian-Irish with significant Anglo, French and German.
Northeastern USA. This group is the darkest without any doubts. Irish and Italians are present all over Northeastern USA. Germans and Anglo aswell but to a lesser degree. Jews especially in New York and New Jersey. People of French ancestry are mostly found in Northern New York and New England.
States: Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
