Syria is not a democracy...it is a police state. And most people don't support him, it is a certain segment of the population. Just like in every civil war, there are supporters and enemies, and also people that are just neutral. At this point there are many many people who are neutral because they are alienated by all sides.

Exactly what I'm saying, the country is really damn split. That's one of the biggest reasons this civil war has lasted so long. 41% have a good view of Turkey, 41% good view of Russia. 40% good view of Assad regime, 40% good view of opposition. Split really damn equally.
