I always found pagan/ancient traditions more interesting than commercialized holidays. Back then, you had rich lore/story-telling and strong cultural traditions that should be enjoyed for the rich experiences it brings; rather than putting a price on everything which is the societal norm in today's society. Too much materialism and cultureless, globalized commodities merely regresses these tangible experiences to petty egoism and degenerated values.
