    You are on the money about my accent, it was influenced by my Midwestern parents. I think non-Americans mistake it for being East Coast when it is really more upper Midwest.

    Well East Coast as in Northeast/? Because the East Coat Maine To Florida has a ton of different dialects.

    They mistake it for Northeast once in a while, like Mass maybe New York, never the southeast though. I think I sound more Midwestern like you said.
