The truth is a white male born in the 1st world has a lot of opportunity and if smart enough they can achieve a lot. There is no reason to complain as 1st world problems are not really problems at all.

Someone told me once to stop complaining as they said some people would give their right arm to be born a white male in the first world. I do not like to talk like that because I do not like to emphasize inequality because I am no fan of it, so I do not mean this in a condescending way.

Yeah, we’re not living in Africa, but simply stating that white men (a bit racist) should not complain when there are legitimate issues, like poverty and drug abuse, among the white male population (mostly in rural areas, which are overwhelmingly white), just makes you sound like a pompous prick. No man in my family held a college degree until recently, spent hours on end working out in the fields, and with living in an intensely poor area comes all of the other shit like violence, drugs, etc.

The biggest problem for white men in the western world is drugs and lack of employment for low skilled workers.

However, if a white male is educated and puts effort into what they want they will most likely be fine. The drug issue is a difficult one as addiction can destroy families and it is hard to watch a family member destroy themselves with drugs I see it happen first hand. I would be heart broken if my children get involved in drugs. It is a tough situation.

Not only that, but generational poverty. Ive seen this cycle and have been involved in it. Most of these issues are in the South. After the Southern economy was absolutely annihilated it never recovered. Sure theres some recovery, but all in all barely anythings changed since Reconstruction, economically. Socially, yes, things are much better, but was it really worth plunging an entire region into intense poverty to re-unite the nation and end slavery? Reunification was necessary, yes, but one could argue the war was not. Had it not occurred and Emancipation was held off until slavery became totally inefficient, the South could’ve prepared itself for change and gradually shifted from plantations to factories.
