And with such patronizing attitude there can never be friendship between us, because you don't want equal partnership.
I have a cousin in Germany (Lower Saxony), she visited Poland in July and I talked to her. She doesn't see herself as German and she barely has any German friends. She says there are more "ethnics" (including other Poles) than Germans in her neighbourhood.

Sorbs are basically Poles, as were Polabians in Mecklenburg. We are all Lechites (German: Lechen), North-West Slavs (as opposed to South-West Slavs like Czechs). It was Heinrich Himmler who said "it is important to divide Poles into as many quarreling groups as possible, divide et impera" - modern Germany continues the same Himmler's policy of dividing Poles in order to extract White immigrants from Poland.
That's what this "friendship" is about - you hope to get more White immigrants instead of Brown ones. That's why if there is any trace of autonomist movements in Poland, Germany is always first to support them with $$$ to undermine our unity.
And you call it "friendship"? This is just a continuation of centuries-old efforts at Germanizing us.

Związek Polaków w Niemczech (Union of Poles in Germany) called for minority recognition (article in Polish):

How can you claim that Poles came through immigration? They were native to eastern provinces of Germany.
Later Germany lost those eastern provinces, but it does not justify abolishing the status of minority for Poles.
Poles came through immigration just like Germans from East Prussia came through immigration.

In 1934 - 1939 Poles had the status of an officially recognized, native minority in Germany.
The Nazis deprived Poles of this status during WW2, and it was never returned back to us after WW2.
As I said it doesn't matter that borders have changed - give us our pre-1939 status back.

EU is a bitter pill to swallow for many us, but we need a lot of it to remain intact, even if it's politically the undemocratic mess ruled largely by corrupt career politicians. We need to be a power block in the world to retain some relevance. Tough challenges ahead of us.
