Insulting new members in their intro threads

This is one of the things I hate the most, and one of the things most likely to chase away new members. With this I include accusations (false, without evidence) that the new member is a "sockpuppet".

I've warned enough about this, I have just banned 3 members for 2 days each for this violation. (TheMaestro, Hektor12, XenophobicPrussian)

There are many chances many "new" users are sockpuppets, it already has happened before.

Leave that to staff members to deal with. You are not allowed to accuse a new member of that. If you have a concern about a new member, send me a private message instead.

ok but a joke is a joke. Banning people for simple jokes is a bit abusive. I understand you are angry with Boris Johnson state of siege but come on...

No you have to understand how intimidating it must be for a new member who come here, gather enough courage to post an intro thread, and then be attacked by 3 established members in a row for no reason. And no, it's not a joke. It is serious to me.

Visiting the intro threads, I've seen more people do that, so the 3 of them aren't the only ones.

It means a former member is using a secondary account to create chaos across the forum. Basically trolling.

This forum does not receive much traffic today than it did 2014-2016. Being banned and creating a new account to cause chaos here is pretty damn pathetic.

I agree, if I understand what you mean by "much traffic in 2014-2016". When someone needs a much traffic - sockpuppets are always welcome regardless how damn pathetic they are
