The Cyrillic alphabet was formed in Preslav, that is, it was created in the Bulgarian royal court, where the ruler is. From there it spread throughout the ethnic Bulgarian land. From Preslav to Ohrid and to Belgrade / which is in the Bulgarian lands /, and at the end of the 10th century, after Christianity was adopted in Kiev, Bulgarian books reached that point. Yes, I agree that the Glagolitic alphabet was created as an alphabet for the Christianization of the Slavs, but we are talking about the alphabet, which we call Cyrillic. The Glagolitic alphabet is the Slavic alphabet. Glagolitic and Glagolitic books go to Moravia. Glagolitic books were consecrated in Rome by Pope Adrian II. The Glagolitic books were brought with them by the disciples of Cyril and Methodius, expelled by the German clergy, Clement, Nahum, Gorazd, and Angelarius. The only "Slavs" who used it were the Bulgarians. Half of the Slavic countries not only do NOT use the Cyrillic alphabet, but have NEVER used it
Only in 5 "Slavic" countries it is used:
1. Bulgaria
2. Belarus
3. Northern Macedonia
4. Russia
5. Ukraine
In other 5 of the "Slavic" countries it is not used:
1. Poland
2. Slovakia
3. Slovenia
4. Croatia
5. Czech Republic
In 3 of the Slavic states they renounced it and gradually replaced it with Latin:
1. Bosnia and Herzegovina
2. Montenegro
3. Serbia
As many as 7 non-Slavic countries use it:
1. Kocovo (together with Latin)
2. Kazakhstan (in the process of being replaced by Latin)
3. Kyrgyzstan
4. Mongolia
5. South Ocetia
6. Tajikistan
7. Transnistria (part of Moldova)
As here, we should pay tribute to Russia, through which it reaches and is used in these Asian and Caucasian countries.
So, there is no reason to call this Bulgarian alphabet Slavic, but only BULGARIAN alphabet, because most countries that use it are NOT Slavic, and the alphabet itself was created here in Bulgaria !! The Cyrillic alphabet is a purely Bulgarian creation, which, through the waves of Bulgarian cultural influence among the neighboring Orthodox Christian nations, has established itself as a graphic system among them.
The earliest open inscription, written in Cyrillic, dates from 931 in a cave monastery near the village of Krepcha in Bulgaria / Northeastern Bulgaria, the area around the old Bulgarian capitals /. The name "Cyrillic" was registered in 1563 in the translation of the New Testament into Croatian.
“ ...Even if a man lives well, he dies and another one comes into existence. Let the one who comes later upon seeing this inscription remember the one who had made it. And the name is Omurtag, Kanasubigi. ”

Both Glagolitic and Cyrillic alphabet are formed for Christianisation and literacy of Slavic people.
Glagolitic was complicated for writing, so soon it was abandoned.
You can keep larping about it is Bulgarian, but it not, it is alphabet of all Orthodox Slavs.
As I said, even 5 out of 30 letters in Serbian Cyrillic alphabet was created by us in 19th century. It is unique.

It was not until the 10th and 11th centuries that the Cyrillic alphabet quickly became established as a written norm in other Orthodox countries as well. The state offices of the rulers of Kievan Russia, Serbia, Bosnia and others. countries, despite knowing the Glagolitic alphabet, adopt the example of the Bulgarian kings and create their official documents in Cyrillic. "
Today it is an alphabet used by some Slavic peoples, but the alphabet is Bulgarian because it was created in Bulgaria.
In the photo - A word of praise for Simeon - 10th century, anonymous author - The word of praise bone reveals us about the events surrounding the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet / The text reads
PRAISE FOR KING SIMEON
The great among (kings King Simeon),
longed with desire too much -
he, the mighty ruler, - to discover
the knowledge hidden in the depths
of these hard-to-reach books
and in the thoughts of the wise Basil,
commanded me, a fool of knowledge,
to change speech into another form,
but to keep the meaning of his thoughts.
From the eulogy, we learn that Simeon wanted to give another form to the word, but keep the meaning. As we already know, all church books were finally translated into Glagolitic at the end of the reign of Boris-Mihail, which means that Simeon was the Bulgarian statesman who gave a direct order for the creation of the Cyrillic alphabet.
“ ...Even if a man lives well, he dies and another one comes into existence. Let the one who comes later upon seeing this inscription remember the one who had made it. And the name is Omurtag, Kanasubigi. ”

[/ QUOTE]
You can also say that it is Slavic, but it is Bulgarian. However, several Slavic peoples have taken advantage of it and still use it today, but most of them are non-Slavic. Even Russia, for the most part, is not genetically a Slavic state, nor is Bulgaria. This is the medieval cultural influence of Bulgaria and the Old Bulgarian language on these countries. Old Bulgarian is the basis of all literary Slavic languages

And now regarding the title of this topic.
I wonder what will be the part of Northern Macedonia with the Czech Republic and Slovakia as they do not even write in Cyrillic or Glagolitic?
Or they will pray as last year they prayed to Bulgaria to be part of the official Bulgarian delegation, which goes to the Vatican and is received by the Pope on the occasion of May 24 - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius
“ ...Even if a man lives well, he dies and another one comes into existence. Let the one who comes later upon seeing this inscription remember the one who had made it. And the name is Omurtag, Kanasubigi. ”
