There are plenty of ethnic minorities in Russia, but I was talking about ethnic Russians. Yeah, as most Slavs did, they've assimilated some non-Slavic populations aswell, but there is still direct ancestral link to the original Slavic speakers, and not some trivial one. Something Congolese would lack with the French, as was in his example.

There are big regional differences in Russia. Most northernes are slavized finnic peoples, south russians are med pontids very close to ukrainians, and russians from east of Moscow including Volga area have many turkic and uralic admixture.

Not really, a north russian is mostly Nordid admixed just like a north german, but a south russian from Black Sea is basically med unlike south germans who has mostly central european phenotypes not south european phenotypes.

I think the Pontid is a most common there and it's a med phenotype

I'm not good enough in anthropology to answer these questions. Imho, it seems that north pontids are pretty common.

Eastern Slavs are incredibly homogenous, considering how large area they occupy. They have less genetic diversity than people living in much smaller Balkan peninsula.
It has lot to do with geography, endless plains are excellent for gene flow.
