It shows effect of colonialism and CCCP

Does your sources gives what does a lighter colour mean? Is there any strict percentage over which the countries were labeled as such?

I have no idea how you created these maps. But the Russian map might be correct, I have nothing against most of these maps, just a couple things:

    1. My grandma speaks a little Russian back from the Communist times, just like many old people here, yet Hungary is not highlighted at all.

    2. You highlighted Romania on the German map but not the Netherlands? I've met many people there who can speak some German (I've been to the Netherlands)

    3. The majority of Europe is gray on the English map, yet I know for a fact that English is widely taught in countries like Hungary, Romania, also in Slovakia among the more educated people, starting from high school, at least many of them can start a basic dialogue.

That's about it, please think of my opinion as a constructive critique.

They're still spoken in certain communities, the local German (hunsriqueano riograndense) is a co-official language in a few small cities.

Maps have been created that based on some sources and facts, it does not guarantee that all of them are correct. Your criticism are accepted and appreciated. I need time to make them more accurate and logical by editing, hence I need your help, as well.

Some brazilians speak these languages, but its dying dont matter how these smalls towns try to preserve it. It seems Japanese will die first because its in Sao Paulo city, Talian comes in second, german have higher chances to survive because way more people speaks it due to be more in rural areas and small towns over the country like South, Espírito Santo and Central West. Also german and pseudo old german languages are official to some cities, but Talian and Japanese I dont know.

    (Talian, old Venetian language?)

Lighter colour means it is spoken as a second rather than first language.

@Damiao: Brazil has the most Italian descendants anywhere outside Italy, and is rivalled only by the US for German descendants.

    Spoiler!
It feels almost like a parallel world. It's such a shame they're dying out.
