Uh, not really. This certainly isn't the first proposal for change in our currency. American money, while very beautiful and classic IMO, is extremely iconic and relatively unchanging, which makes it that much easier to counterfeit.

Great excuse to stick PC pictures on there, and get rid of the hated Dead White Men. I used to be involved in passport security, and there's plenty you can do that's subtle enough to prevent fraud but keep the general 'look'.

And anyway, the article in the OP is hardly serious, it sounds like some guy's silly project. I highly doubt anyone with any influence whatsoever is proposing that we stick pictures of teepees or whatever else on our money. Instead, as I said, they've been modifying the existing designs by adding new colors, watermarks, etc.
