Non-native English-speakers: do you generally find Brits or Americans easier to understand?

I hated the fact they teach us British English with the gay pronunciation, thank god 50,game and rick ross teached me more than school ever did. I used to hate British English, now I love chav English and the way the grime ppl talk, but hate upper class english.





Bottom line, I understand American English better, but im not good in English generally having verbal conversation.

For me it was far more better than having a teacher with strong German accent lol. And we had a lot of advantages with a native English speaker, and she was really nice

Hiya, old chap, sorry, but that is an awfully daft question--- poppycock ! It is utterly bonkers or absurd or presposterous to even proffer, in a question, that non-native English-speakers, on the whole, might find Brits easier to understand. That is because I am under the impression that the Americans' atrocious rendition of 'English' saturates the world via their media and hegomonic status etc... so at the end of the day , though, only British English is of gloriously spiffing quality while American 'English' is rather abysmal.

^ That is British English at least to a significant the fact is British people can understand Americans and but not vice versa so on forums such as this you are likely to hear 'Brits' typing like Americans because it is the international business language but Brits or at least I don't recognize 'American English' as proper or correct that is reserved for the Received Pronunciation or the Queen's English or the standard old BBC English before standards were relaxed !

Americans and Canadians for me. Brits and Australians sound too odd.

They both have some difficult regional variations when it comes to accents, but generally-speaking I'd say the American ones are easier to understand
