The treaty terms are very loose and are pretty much free to interpret. Did you think that we are dumb enough to sign something that would benefit you more than it does us, while we have the upper hand? But yeah, you're already violating the treaty terms, so we have every right to block you.
Bulgaria may be the poorest EU member(still richer than FYROM), but it's not the smallest economy, so it's not the least important. Not to mention Bulgaria's important geo-stratigical position, unlike FYROM's useless landlocked location. The population of FYROM may actually be shrinking faster than Bulgaria, but the situation there is so f'ed up that they couldn't make a census for the last 18 years, imagine that. FYROM also has a gypsy problem, but on top of that it has a huge Albanian minority and ethnic tensions are not even comparable to those in Bulgaria, Bulgaria has like 0 Albanians... Every single bad thing that you said about Bulgaria is even worse in FYROM, it's amazing.
The biggest irony of the situation is that by the time when FYROM enters the EU, the gibs will most probably be over. That is to say, if FYROM even exists in the next decade.

Albanians are emigrating rapidly, an Albanian user here claims a 3rd have left in the last decade or so, Macedonian slav population is steady. Ethnic Bulgarians are on a massive decline, emigrating by the masses, and you have huge gypsy and Turkish minorities who are growing in number.

You haven't been to FYROM, have you? The Eastern and Southern Slavic parts are just small towns and villages with only old people living there, while the Albanian western part has a lot of young people. The "fyromian slav" population is everything but steady, it's just fake statistics, because they're too afraid to make an actual census.
Bulgarian gypsies use their citizenships to go to western Europe and claim benefits, so it's actually they who are migrating rapidly out of Bulgaria. And the actual Turkish population in Bulgaria(not the gypsy "Turks) is declining as fast as Bulgarians. There are also a lot of Russians, Ukrainians and Moldovans of Bulgarian descent that immigrate to Bulgaria.

I am glad to hear your gypsies are leaving, not so happy they are here, many are here in western Europe, lots of the "East Euro" shops here in the UK are run by gypsies from Bulgaria and Romania.
Most of the young people in west Macedonia seem to be leaving as well to Switzerland Germany etc, at least according to some Albanian, either way why wish death upon the Macedonian nation, what happened to slavic brotherhood? Why be bitter?

It should be time these nations worked together to improve living standards and bring economic progress; these centuries old fueds are pathetic. Bulgaria is doing themselves no favours with this embittered attempt at blocking North Macedonia.

Slavomacedonians emigrate too and the fact remains, 1/3 of FYROM’s population are Albanian Muslims, and there are also significant Muslim minorities of Turkish and Slavic ancestry and hundreds of thousands of Gypsies. Muslim babies make almost 50% of annual births in the country right now.
Minorities in Bulgaria are like 15% of the population, the situation is not similar at all.

These statistics include emigrants in western Europe. Based off actual Albanians living in Macedonia, number is reported to be closer to 16%.
Macedonia has a growth rate of 0.12%, Bulgaria is losing -7.3 people/1,000, one of the worst birth rates on the planet. Long term situation is much better for North Macedonia, and I think when the census is done properly this will be obvious to everyone.
