Pure german ancestry is pretty rare, but many hungarian have distant german ancestors. Officially there is 200000 german in Hungary who can speak german, i think the number of assimilated germans is about 200000-300000 they have mostly german background but they can't speak the language. Nowadays only some village has german majority for example Altdorf (Ófalu), in Baranya they originated from Hessen, Großdorf (Vaskeresztes) in Vas. Majority of these assimilated germans live in Budapest, Pilisch region and Baranya.

Some of the members here (like the turanist Turul Karom) have such results that imply their German ancesty is much greater that what you would call 'distant', though what their actual numbers among the Hungarian total are I have no clue. If we were able to compare their results to yours, since you identify as an ethnic German, we'd get a more clear picture.

I'll do genetic test in the future, my ancestry is 3/4 german and 1/4 hungarian, would be interesting I think i'm gonna get 10-20 slavic.

I agree with you.
I think people under estimate all the possible distant German layers that potentialy exist in Hungarian
DNA.

After Hungary was decimated by Mongols in 14th century many Germans were brought in.
Same thing again after Ottomans,and in between and after these events was sporadic immigrations of Germanic people's.
Many Hungarians can have some part Germanic ancestry even if quite distant.
