It depends , certain styles and probably schools produce better results than others.Especially Karate learn you to lose and not fight correctly
2 Karate guys that fight very effectively in MMA / UFC are Lyoto Machida and Stephen Wonderboy Thompson.
Machida does Shotokan and Wonderboy does Kempo Karate and kickboxing.
They both use their Karate backgrounds in how they fight in UFC .
