Interesting result but what is interesting is the SSA admix. I would not see this strange especially if the person who is an American and has a colonial ancestry, since some of them will no doubt score some SSA. Congrats on your results Elizabeth, your results in general seem to fit the landscape of your ancestry

In the North generally speaking colonial peoples only married other colonial Europeans, and it was rather taboo to do otherwise.


There were no racial laws or laws against miscegenation, but it was certainly frowned down upon to do involve yourself in an inter-racial marriage. A lot of the mixed-raced people did not mix with white people, but just married other mixed-raced people. It depends on what area of the country, and definitely the more mixed-raced an individual the higher the probability their Sub-Saharan ancestry would be overlooked.

The possible scenarios for such a percentage bracketing are many, but the most probable are 1 great-great-great-great-great grandparent and 1 other great-great-great-great-great-great grandparent or two of these.

If this is real, I think it would be from one of my Dutch ancestors.
Probably South Africa Boers.
My Dutch ancestors lived in New York and New Jersey.
I don't know the lines for some of the Dutch wives.

I have four new RF matches.

All are anonymous but I sent genome sharing invitations to them.

One is a man with mtDNA L0a1b1a1 and his YDNA is I1*. He is my 38th I1* as of today.

Since DNA Tribes says I have Central African (Khoisan and pygmies, 100% in San of Namibia) I wonder if this guy is a pygmy descendant. And if yes, I also wonder if he is of Dutch (Boer) descent.

I also have 23andme matches to white South Africans and a man from the Netherlands who all have African mtDNA. Seems the Boer men had babies with the South African women there.
