Who is more ethnically representative of the Lebanese? The footballers or the cabinet ministers?

There is some colorism in Lebanon. The team is more representative, excluding the foreigners.

They don't differ all that much. But if I had to pick, the cabinet ministers.

The football team has some people who just look very dark and possibly Arabian influenced. You do not see the same in the cabinet ministers, who look more like the Lebanese in my town. Also the football team has little Armenoid nor Semitic look.

Excuse me? In both colouring and, more crucially, facial traits, the cabinet ministers look very overtly more (Southern) European than do the football players. The question is why this disparity exists, and what percentages of Lebanese people resemble whom.

They look in between the football players and cabinet ministers, but just about lean towards the former.

They look more Southern European because people's idea of such is Italian Americans in NYC, and people forget that Ashkenazis are genetically admixed who look like that too.

The cabinet ministers look like average Jews in NYC. The football players look outright MENA.

But a good few of the cabinet ministers could pass as other Southern Europeans, not just Italians. As for the football team...

That is true. I see a few who could be Romanian and another few who could be as far west as Iberian, although not necessarily typical. The football team, I would hesitate to say they even could be Cypriots as a group.
