It's a complicated situation but basically they got lucky. King Harold lost a lot of his best men against the Vikings and he still almost beat the Normans. If it was just the Saxon's vs the Normans the Saxons would have won easy. After the Battle of Hastings the Saxons also didn't unite properly partly because the two battles had killed so much of the ruling class. Also the Normans had Scandinavian blood maybe that made them superior to ordinary French.

Scandinavians are certainly the largest, most well built peoples in Europe. Slavic peoples do have impressive strength, but they are not as large or powerful as you average Scandinavian.

It is a balkan native thing.Nothing to do with slavs. Where Ev-13 and I2a2 peaks ( I2a2 is slavic, but native balkanic mtDNA has do to in this) you have the tallest giants.

However Germanics are tall, no doubts. Much taller than average Mediterranean or slav.

lol so true, I am 6 ft tall almost 200lbs and considered small in my family, my brother is 6'5 almost 300 lbs. far larger than your average slav
