For me it was through Skandi that I came and I am then drawn to Mani and Niord.

She is the idea that you can do anything if you want, Mani is always there watching and Niord because I am drawn to the sea.

I would have to say I feel a connection to 3 deities. Odin, Thor, and Tyr.

Odin - I've had some odd associations in my life that I directly attribute with Odin, along for my lust for battle. I've had a connection with crow birds, related to the ravens that Odin has at his side, and my aunt had oddly a one eyed crow that could speak lol Odin being having ravens(related to crows) and one eye, etc.... and I love to wander, just roam, and Odin is he not the wanderer? Odin aslo being a god of sacrifice to gain wisdom and strength, I believe that toil and hard work(sacrifice) is necessary to succeed anywhere.


Thor - I feel a tie to because I am a down to earth man, a strong youth, and comfortable with the forces of nature, and I love the rain and thunder.

Tyr - I feel a tie to because of my sense of Justice and my belief in sacrifice and toil for success, Tyr being the epitome of the sacrifice by sacrificing his own hand to Fenrir, and Tyr being the upholder of justice fits all to well with myself.

Thor for obvious reasons, as any good Heathen man should understand, and the wights as I feel they would have the most interaction with the common man.

Thor is a powerful one,no?Full of passion and virility, not too unlike Frey.Thor's also great with being real, indulging his appetites and yet still championing the World.

I am bound to my Lady, Hel. The funny thing is, I've seen the Lady many times, long before I became Heathen/Pagan/what-have-you. Not in any numinous way, but my mother had/has an artwork created by her (deceased) younger sister.

My aunt Tina titled it "Lady MacBeth," but it was clearly a version of Hel--carved in wood and painted in only three colors (white, sky blue, lichenous green); a young woman, half-white, half-deep green, looking outward in love and compassion. That painting haunted my childhood. Thirty years later, as I chose to honor the gods and goddesses of the ancestors and began a deeper study of them, this vision of the Lady Hel popped right back up, and I could not deny Her.

I no longer fear death (as I was taught to be by a post-Xian society), as I know that when it happens, however it happens, it is merely my Mistress come to fetch her servant.

I feel like Thor is there somewhere, always, but in terms of attributes I identify with Víðarr.

I don't know how I come across on the internet but I am not exactly the most talkative or social person. But also my wife can tell of this as well that I can be roused to quite the anger if pushed.
