Continuing with this thread, a couple of pics from the interior of Anzoategui state. Most of Anzoategui state (except its coastal parts) belong to the Venezuelan llanos (central plains in the interior of the country):

Most of the Venezuelan llanos are mostly plain, but you can find some few hills, from time to time, like this hill in the middle of the llanos of Anzoategui state. The yellow trees are Araguaneys, which is a tree with yellow flowers, that is considered the national tree of Venezuela:

Before continuing with the next state (Sucre) I forgot to mention the Federal Dependencies, which are deserted Caribbean islands, most of them located some few hundreds of kilometers from the Venezuelan coasts, and that are mostly uninhabited, except when they receive the seasonal visit of fishermen (in most cases from Margarita Island) who settle on these islands temporarily.

    From Wikipedia:

The Federal Dependencies of Venezuela (Spanish Dependencias Federales de Venezuela) encompass most of Venezuela's offshore islands in the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Venezuela, excluding those islands which form the State of Nueva Esparta. These islands, with a total area of 342 square kilometres, are sparsely populated - according to the preliminary results of the 2011 Census only 2,155 people live there permanently, with another hundred from Margarita Island who live there seasonally to engage in fishing. Local government is under the authority of the mayor of Caracas.

    Geography

The federal dependencies are composed of 600 islands and smaller formations; many have an area of less than 10,000 square metres and are essentially simple rocks. The largest island, La Tortuga, accounts for almost half of the territory of the federal dependencies.

Dependencias Federales stretch for 900 km (560 mi) along the coast from Archipiélago Los Monjes in the west at the Gulf of Venezuela to Isla de Patos southeast of Isla Margarita at the Gulf of Paria in the east.

    Principal islands and groups[edit]
    These are set out below:

Los Monjes Archipelago (Archipiélago Los Monjes)
La Tortuga Island (Isla La Tortuga)
La Sola Island (Isla La Sola)
Los Testigos Islands (Islas Los Testigos)
Los Frailes Islands (Islas los Frailes)
    Patos Island (Isla de Patos)
Los Roques Archipelago (Archipiélago Los Roques)
    Blanquilla Island (Isla La Blanquilla)
Los Hermanos Archipelago (Archipiélago Los Hermanos)
    Orchila Island (Isla La Orchila)
Las Aves Archipelago (Archipiélago Las Aves)
    Aves Island (Isla de Aves)
    Map of the Federal Dependencies:

On the next days I will be showing some of these islands

All right... Ladies and gentlemen... since its Christmas time, before I continue showing the Venezuelan Islands of the Federal Dependencies, here I show some Zulian gaitas.

The Zulian gaitas are a regional folk music genre, typical of the Venezuelan state of Zulia (in northwestern Venezuela). The Zulian Gaitas are popular in Zulia state all year round, but in Christmas times they get popular in all the Venezuelan territory, up to the point that many Venezuelan radio stations through all Venezuela, put many Zulian Gaitas in their regular transmission (only during Christmas times).

Zulian Gaitas, with landscapes from Maracaibo (the second largest Venezuelan city, and the capital city of Zulia state):

Zulian Gaita theme, dedicated to the bridge over the Maracaibo lake, one of the largest bridges in all south America (8 kilometers long). This bridge communicates the city of Maracaibo with the eastern coast of the lake of Maracaibo:

Some typical Christmas time Venezuelan food (only eaten in Christmas/New year time):

Hallacas (made slightly different on each different Venezuelan region):

    Venezuelan Chicken Salad:

    Venezuelan Christmas Turkey:

    Venezuela Ham Bread:

All the above combined in a typical Venezuelan Christmas dinner dish (normally accompanied with a cup of wine):

Then, Venezuelans use to complete that Christmas dinner with Spanish Turron (a Spanish desert mostly made with Almonds and honey) and Panettone (an Italian Christmas bread) as desert

Yeah, they are done with about the same kind of cornmeal. The difference if that they also have raisins, green olives, and they are wrapped in banana leaves (not regular bananas but platanos, in Spanish), as in the pictures. There are some regional differences, regarding the ingredients that the put inside the hallacas, though.

Lets bump this thread. I promised that I would continue with the Venezuelan Federal Dependencies (uninhabited Caribbean Islands located hundreds of miles from the Venezuelan coast) but it will take me some time. By now I just feel like posting this video about the different Venezuelan existing subway systems, and some that are in project, at the end of the video:

I know that they really aren't representative, but from all the telenovelas I've seen all Venezuelans looked either white or mestizo, so I was quite surprised to find out that a big percentage of them actually have black admixture.
