I believe any kind of religious school should be shut down like in 1930s Turkey or Soviet Russia, this is a contradiction to the Kemalist principle. And I consider it hypocritical that Halki school is closed but religious schools are operating. I'll give you that.

German Turks, Dutch Turks are problem of the countries there. They invited them (official agreements with Turkey), settled them, gave them jobs and citizenship. They are more like hosted than immigrants status. If Austria gave you citizenship it's good. Turkey is secular. Presidency for religious affairs help state control religion, imams cant say anything they want in sermon, they read what state sends and ID cards left empty for nones, and written Christian for Xtians. Anyway, now there is new generation ID cards with chip launched in Turkey and no more religion box. Turkey is secular. No discussion about that.
However Greece..Epirot wrote everything. No civic society, state has even no authority for marriage and giving name so this says a lot. And everything Raine says about: there are other states like Greece in the world..
