Trolling the Nazis. Sounds like fun right? During World War II, the OSS, (now the CIA) put out a “Sabotage Field Manual”, which described innovative ways in which ordinary citizens could sabotage America’s enemies by doing a range of disruptive things from starting arguments to starting fires.

The OSS Director William J. Donovan recommended that the sabotage guidance be declassified and distributed to citizens of enemy states via pamphlets and targeted broadcasts. Today, the whole thing is available for your reading pleasure on the CIA’s website. A few of the instructions are surprisingly relevant, others amusingly outdated and some are just plain crazy. Together they are a reminder of how easily productivity and order can be undermined. For your convenience, I’ve highlighted some of my favourite timeless tips…
