Only ignorants in Turkey think there is smth holy about Arabic script. In Arab countries, they publish erotic and sex stories using Arabic script. I am sure if you show those texts to some ignorants in Turkey, they would save them as holy scripts. Arabic script is the national script of Arabs and nothing more.

i know..near taksim is already filled with changes and guided tour shops with flashy signs in arabic only.
Last year i was at Sapanca Gölü and it has practically become an Arab only estate place. you go on the main caddesi on the lakeside and all you see are rich arabs with their swarms of Wives and kids and i was surprised when i saw Satlik and kiralik signs in arabic only targeted to arabs. some are so rich they just buy a house there because they can.

Taksim and around is full Arabic, some refugees and some tourists. Turks are leaving the area. That looks like some place in the Middle East actually.
According to estimates, in Istanbul there are currently unsold 1,8 million houses newly constructed by contruction companies very active in Turkey. They try to sell them to Arabs even offering citizenship should they buy real estate, with some condition in amounts etc.

Yeah it kills me to see it. Bad thing is that government is dependent on Arab money. Turkey is in deficit for years and they find solution in selling real estate to Arabs. Government even recently passed a bill to encourage real estate purchases, now anyone who buys about 300.000$ worth real estate is given citizenship. Yes this is real.
In where i live all real estate agents use Arabic signs, even though not much Arabs live here.
